Seven new COVID-19 cases confirmed, total rises to 342

VGP - Seven more COVID-19 infection cases were confirmed Thursday afternoon, raising the patient tally to 342, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

The latest patients were among passengers onboard the flight QH9092 from Kuwait to Ho Chi Minh City on June 16. They were immediately quarantined in a centralized camp in Phu My town in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.

These patients had their samples tested for COVID-19 on the following days and are being treated in the Ba Ria Hospital.

Patient 336 is a 29-year old man residing in Nghi Loc District of the central province of Nghe An.

Patient 337 is a 25-year old man residing in Hoang Hoa District of Thanh Hoa Province.

Patient 338 is a 38-year old man residing in Lang Giang District of Bac Giang Province.

Patient 339 is a 37-year old man residing in Dien Chau District of Nghe An Province.

Patient 340 is a 33-year old man residing in Yen Thanh District of Nghe An Province.

Patient 341 is a 35-year old man residing in Tu Ky District of Hai Duong Province.

Patient 342 is a 41-year old man residing in Huong Khe District of Ha Tinh Province.

With these new patients, the number of imported cases in Viet Nam rose to 202, said the National Steering Committee.

As of 6:10 pm on Thursday, 325 out of the 342 patients have been cleared of the virus, accounting for 95%, the Committee added./.
