The man, residing in Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City, left for China on January 14 and stranded there due to the COVID-19 outbreaks until May 31 when he flew from Hubei to Nanning and then entered Viet Nam via Mong Cai border gate.
He was immediately sent to a centralized quarantine camp in Mong Cai city where he tested negative for the first time on June 3. The second test on June 11 showed that he contracted the virus.
As reported earlier, Viet Nam has gone 58 days without any new COVID-19 community infection and the number of recovered patients rose to 323 as of 6pm on Friday.
A total number of 6,475 people, who have been in close contact with COVID-19 patients or come from the pandemic-stricken areas are under quarantine in the nation, including 136 at hospitals, 5,478 at centralized quarantine facilities, and 861 at places of residence./.
