Nearly 97% of COVID-19 patients in VN recovered

VGP – The recovery rate of COVID-19 patients in Viet Nam rose to nearly 96.7% as of 6pm on Thursday, said the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Specifically, 321 out of 332 patients have been cleared of the virus, the committee added.

Today (June 11) marked the 56th consecutive day without new COVID-19 community infection.

As many ass 9,226 people are under medical surveillance, including 159 at hospitals, 8,822 at centralized quarantine camps, and 345 at places of residence.

Regarding British COVID-19 patient, the Ministry of Health said his health continues improving surprisingly day by day. He regained his consciousness and could remember his phone and iPad passwords.

He could smile at health workers on June 4, sit up on June 6 and swing his legs, said the ministry.

Doctors at the Ho Chi Minh City Cho Ray Hospital put him off the ECMO a week ago and began to reduce his reliance on ventilator.

The Ministry of Health had decided to establish a steering committee to direct lung transplant for the patient but it would be a standby solution thanks to the British national’s improving health conditions.
