VN goes 56 days without community infections

VGP – Viet Nam reported 192 imported coronavirus cases and no community infection in 56 consecutive days, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

From 6:00 PM of June 10 to 6:00 AM of June 11, Viet Nam confirmed no new coronavirus case. 

Among the total 332 infections, 192 were imported and quarantined upon arrival.

At present, 9,226 people are being quarantined including 159 at hospitals; 8,722 at quarantine camps, and 345 at home.  

So far, 96.4% of the Covid-19 patients have recovered. The country has 12 active cases under treatment at seven hospitals of whom three were tested positive once and one was tested positive twice.

Patient 91, a 43-year-old British pilot is the only serious case, but has made a miraculous recovery. He can now sit up, respond to doctors, move his legs, write on a board and press a button to adjust the height of his bed. 

The National Steering Committee reported that Asia witnessed positive signs of flattening the curves. Especially, Japan planned to resume tourism activities with four countries including Viet Nam./.
