One more COVID-19 infection case confirmed, total increases to 332

VGP – A 18-year-old man returning from Cambodia has been confirmed the latest COVID-19 infection case in Viet Nam, bringing the patient tally to 332, the National Steering Committee said Monday afternoon.

The man was immediately quarantined after arriving at Thuong Phuoc border gate in Thuong Phuoc Communue, Hong Ngu District of the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap on May 25.

He was admitted to Hong Ngu District Medical Center for treatment.

As of 6: 05pm on June 8, Viet Nam went 53 consecutive days without new COVID-19 community infection, said the committee.

Of the patient tally, 316 have been cleared of the virus and the current active cases are reportedly in stable health conditions, the committee said.

As many as 9,088 people who have been in close contact with COVID-19 patients or returned from the pandemic-stricken areas are being isolated, including 72 at hospitals, 7,150 at centralized quarantine facilities, and 1,866 at places of residence./.
