One more COVID-19 infection case confirmed, total rises to 329

VGP – A 22-year old male student returning from the UK has been confirmed the 329th COVID-19 infection case in Viet Nam, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said early Saturday.

The latest patient, residing in Thanh Xuan District, Ha Noi, took flight VN50 from the UK to Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on June 4. He has been treated at Cu Chi field hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.

The country's patient tally includes 189 imported patients who were quarantined immedicately upon their arrivals, according to the committee.

Of the total, 307 patients have been cleared of the virus, making up 93.3% while the other 22 patients have been treated at medical facilities with stable health.

The nation has gone 51 days without recording any new COVID-19 infection case in the community, the committee added.

As many as 9,088 people who have been in close contact with the COVID-19 patients or returned from the pandemic areas have been isolated, including 72 at hospitals, 7,150 at concentrated quarantine establishments and 1,866 places of residence.
