VN repatriates nearly 340 citizens from UK

VGP – A Viet Nam Airlines flight carrying nearly 337 Vietnamese nationals from London, the UK landed in Ho Chi Minh City on June 4, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This is the second citizen repatriation flight from the UK, which was jointly conducted by the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK, the national flag carrier Viet Nam Airlines, and other competent agencies.

The passengers include the elderly, patients with chronic diseases, workers and tourists whose visas had expired, and students, said the foreign ministry. 

The flight departed from Ha Noi, carrying passengers to Germany's Frankfurt and 200 kg of face masks donated by the British Embassy in Viet Nam to the Government and people in the UK. 

Right upon arrival all passengers were taken to centralized quarantine camps where they will be tested for the novel coronavirus. 

Official data showed Viet Nam has arranged 17 special flights to bring home about 5,021 citizens from foreign countries and territories since April 24 and more flights are expected in the coming time./.
