Four more COVID-19 cases confirmed, total rises to 324

VGP – Two flight attendants and two passengers have been confirmed the latest COVID-19 infection cases in Viet Nam, bringing the patient tally to 324, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control reported Monday afternoon.

The two flight attendants are patient 321, aged 44, and patient 322, aged 39, residing in Phu Nhuan District of Ho Chi Minh City.

The pair served on flight VN0062 carrying 297 Vietnamese citizens from Russia. After landing in Van Don International Airport in the northern province of Quang Ninh on May 13, all the crew members flew to Ha Noi and then to Ho Chi Minh City where they were quarantined at an accommodation of the Viet Nam Airlines at No. 115, Hong Ha Street, Tan Binh District.

The two attendants shared the same room and both were tested negative for the first time on May 14. On May 16, patient 321 got fever and tested positive for the virus on the following day.

Both of them are being treated at the Cu Chi field hospital in the city.

Patient 323 is a 19-year-old student from Tan Binh District of Ho Chi Minh City. She returned to Viet Nam from the US on May 16 on flight VN001.

Patient 324 is a 18-year-old student who was on the same flight with the aforesaid case.

Right upon arriving at the Noi Bai International Airport, the two students were sent to a centralized quarantine camp in Ha Noi’s Thach That District.

They are now being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

As of 6: 05 pm on Monday, 263 out of the patient tally were cleared of the virus and the country went 32 consecutive days without new community infection./.
