One more COVID-19 infection case confirmed, patient tally rise to 271

VGP - A 37-year old British man was confirmed the latest COVID-19 infection case in Viet Nam, the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control just reported.

He landed in Tan Son Nhat International Airport on April 28 on flight AXY 2504 from the UK and was taken to a centralized quarantine camp in Ho Chi Minh City’s Can Gio District.

The man and other 12 passengers were tested negative for the first time upon their arrival. On May 2, they were tested again but only the British man was confirmed positive for the virus.

He is being treated at the city’s Cu Chi field hospital.

The latest case sent the total number of COVID-19 patients to 271, of whom 131 are imported cases.

Viet Nam has gone 17 days without new community transmission case of COVID019, according to the Steering Committee./.
