Total COVID-19 infection cases rise to 249

VGP – The Ministry of Health has confirmed four more COVID-19 infection cases, bringing the patient tally to 249.

Patient 246 is a 33- year old man from Yen Thanh District of the central province of Nghe An.

He had been a cook in Moscow, Russia and returned to Viet Nam on March 25 on flight SU290.

He was immediately taken to a centralized quarantine facility in Ha Noi’s Thach That District upon his arrival and is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh District.

Patient 247 is a 28-year old man from Ho Chi Minh City’s Binh Thanh District.

As a production manager at Gia Dinh Shoes Company, he had been in close contacts with the company’s previously announced patients numbered 124 and 151.

Patient 248 is a 20-year old man who landed in Tan Son Nhat International Airport on March 23 on flight JL079 from the US after transiting in Japan.

He was immediately taken to a centralized quarantine facility in Ho Chi Minh City upon his arrival and is being treated at the Cu Chi field hospital.

Patient 249 is a 55-year old man returning from the US on March 22 after transiting in Hong Kong.

He is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Of the total infection cases confirmed in Viet Nam so far, 156 have been imported cases, accounting for 62.3%, the ministry said.

At least 106 patients have been cleared of the virus and exited hospitals as of 11:30 am this morning.

As of Tuesday morning, 85,295 people have been quarantined, including 1,248 at hospitals, 37,544 at centralized camps and 46,503 at places of residence./.
