Me Linh field hospital in Ha Noi to operate soon

VGP – A field hospital located at Me Linh District, Ha Noi is expected to come into operation on March 27 amid rising number of COVID-19 infection cases due to influx of incoming flights over the past days.

This is part of the city's drastic efforts to prepare for a possibly long-term fight against the pandemic which have spread swiftly around the world.

Covering an area of 12 ha, the 250- bed facility is said to provide services like diagnosis and even treatment to COVID-19 patients in serious conditions. 

During the past week, Ha Noi authorities also approved a plan to utilize dormitories in Hoang Mai, Nam Tu Liem, and Thach That  Districts as centralized quarantine facilities.

In an effort to prevent the virus transmision, the municipal authorities on Tuesday demanded temporary closure of bars, massage parlours, karaoke bars, cinemas, and stadiums to prevent people from gathering during the COVID-19 outbreak period. 

At present, 46 COVID-19 patients confirmed in the city have been treated at the second facility of the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases Dong Anh District.
