HCMC man confirmed 48th COVID-19 patient

VGP – A man, aged 31, in Ho Chi Minh City was confirmed having the COVID-19 by the Ministry of Health this morning, bringing the total infection cases in Viet Nam to 48.

On March 13, a 25-year old man in the city was also confirmed contracting the virus.

Both of them are linked to a previously announced patient in the central province of Binh Thuan.

The infection case in Binh Thuan Province is Vietnamese woman, aged 51, who was confirmed the 34th COVID-19 patient in the nation.

On February 22, she flew from Viet Nam to New York, the US after transiting in South Korea’s Incheon airport.

On February 29, she flew back to Viet Nam from Washington, the US after transiting in Qatar. She arrived at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on March 2.

Of the 48 infection cases confirmed so far, 16 have been cleared of the virus and exited hospitals while the rest have been reported since March 6.
