Quang Ninh shuts down tourist destinations due to COVID-19 outbreak

VGP – Authorities of Quang Ninh province has decided to temporarily shut down tourist destinations for about two weeks due to complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Quang Ninh Province temporarily stops welcoming visitors within 14 days from March 12-March 27 to ensure safety for local people and arrivals. 

The lastest decision was made to protect local residents and visitors after four foreign visitors tested positive in the locality that arrived in Viet Nam on March 2.

Specifically, tourist destinations like Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay, Yen Tu historical site and Co To and Van Don Islands have been closed from 12.00 am of March 12 through to March 27. 

Vessels and visitors are not permitted to dock in Ha Long Bay since March 12, according to the decision.  

Meanwhile, Ha Long city also asked for temporarily closure of karaoke bars, discotheques, bars and public gaming centers, effective from 8:00 pm on the same day.

Restaurants and catering businesses in the area are limited to welcome and serve large groups of people while religious establishments have been required to temporarily stop receiving visitors from 8 am on March 12. 

At present, as many as 1,210 people have been isolated in the province.

The local health agency identified 33 cases having been in close contact with four foreign visitors and worked out an isolation plan in line with regulations of the Ministry of Health./.
