COVID-19 update: Observance of quarantine, health declaration regulations seriously demanded

VGP – The Ministry of Health on Saturday demanded local authorities seriously carry out regulations on health declaration for incoming travelers from or having travel records to Iran and Italy.

The move is part of the Government’s efforts to prevent the COVID-19 that is spreading worldwide, with Iran and Italy reporting large numbers of infection cases.

Under the regulations, travelers shall have to fill health declaration form at all border gates since 0am on February 29.

The local authorities were also asked to arrange interpreters major in Iranian and Italian languages at the border gates to provide necessary support for the incoming travellers.

Viet Nam’s drastic efforts to contain the COVID-19 epidemic have been appreciated by the international community, including the World Health Organization and the US Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (US CDC).

Thanks to its endeavors, no new infections have been reported since February 13 while all 16 confirmed patients have been cleared of the virus and exited hospitals.

The Ministry of Health said Saturday that 1,597 people were tested negative for the virus and other 81 suspected cases have been isolated.

In addition, the nation is monitoring 6,009 people with links to suspected cases or coming from COVID-19 affected areas./.
