Export licensing regime applies on medical masks exports

VGP – The Ministry of Health applies the export licensing regime on medical masks amid COVID-19 prevention and control period and only allows exports of medical masks for international aid and assistance purposes granted by the Vietnamese Government (maximum of 25% of the output for exports and 75% for domestic use).

The Government has issued Resolution No. 20/NQ-CP on applying the export licensing regime on medical masks amid COVID-19 prevention and control period.

The regulation shall not apply to export activities of export-processing enterprises granted with investment certificates and medical mask-processing enterprises for foreign traders signing processing contracts before March 1, 2020.

The General Department of Customs, under the Ministry of Finance is tasked to supervise the exports of medical masks.

As of February 29, 2020, a total number of 85,186 people infected with COVID-19 and 2,924 deaths of the virus all over the world.

At present, all 16 COVID patients in Viet Nam were successfully treated and discharged from hospital.
