Khanh Hoa province certified coronavirus disease-free by Health Ministry

VGP – The central coastal province of Khanh Hoa has been declared free of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) under the Ministry of Health (MOH)’s Decision No. 648/QD-BYT issued on February 26.

L.T.T.H, the only COVID-19 patient in Khanh Hoa province, has been discharged from hospital for over 20 days.

The ministry asked the provincial People’s Committee to direct relevant units to continue taking epidemic monitoring, prevention and control measures in accordance with the 2007 Law on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases.

Earlier, on January 31, 2020, the MOH promulgated Decision No. 240/QD-BYT declaring the COVID-19 epidemic in Khanh Hoa after a local hotel receptionist tested positive for the virus.

After a period of isolated treatment, the patient successfully recovered from the disease, and since then, the province has recorded no new cases of infection.

According to the MOH, Viet Nam has reported 16 confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection so far, with all the patients having successfully recovered by now.

The disease-affected localities include Vinh Phuc, Thanh Hoa, Khanh Hoa and Ho Chi Minh City. With no more cases detected in Thanh Hoa and HCM City over the past 30 days, these two localities have implemented formalities to declare them free from the epidemic./.
