The meeting discussed test equipment, nCoV diagnose, medical staff in domestic airports, preparatory work to welcome Vietnamese overseas people from infected areas coming home by air; and isolate suspected people.

A large number of delegates underlined the necessary of isolating suspected people and voluntary isolation at the community.

Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung said that the ministry unprecedentedly engaged in nCoV prevention.

Over the past days, nearly 40,000 news on nCOV have been released in an open and transparent manner.

Central and local hotlines received and responded to over 20,000 fee-of-charge calls.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam also stressed the need to properly isolate people from disease-hit areas and others who contacted with suspected patients. Especially, isolation work must be implemented properly in the community. Quick and drastic responses   would help stabilize the society and serve for economic growth.

The Steering Committee reported that as mid-February 15, 24,553 infectious cases were reported in China and 27 other countries and territories. 3,223 patients were struggling with the virus. Up to 907 others recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

Viet Nam had 10 cases and 409 suspected people of whom 347 were excluded. Meanwhile, 349 people who closely contacted with suspected people are being supervised. Especially, Viet Nam successfully treated three patients out of the 10 infected ones in Thanh Hoa, HCMC, and Khanh Hoa.

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has already crafted plans to send investigating groups to border provinces to direct disease prevention; standardize test processes; and share biological test products; train nCoV tests.

The MoH will work with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and relevant agencies to ensure adequate supply of medical masks and nCoV tests at grass-root levels./.
