New coronavirus declared public health emergency of int’l concern

VGP – The World Health Organization has declared new coronavirus (2019-nCoV) the public health emergency of international concern on January 31.

The virus was first reported from Wuhan, China on December 31, 2019 and has spread to 21 countries and territories.

The number of the virus infections rose to 9,807 while the death toll increased to 213, according to the Vietnamese Ministry of Health.

In Viet Nam, the number of confirmed virus infection cases increased to 5, including two Chinese nationals and three Vietnamese citizens who have returned home from the Chinese city of Wuhan, said the Ministry.

One Vietnamese patient is being kept isolated and treated at the General Hospital of Thanh Hoa province while the other two patients are quarantined at the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Kim Chung commune, Dong Anh district, Ha Noi./.
