VN, Cambodia ink security cooperation plan for 2020

The signing ceremony took place on January 18 following the pair’s talks in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the talks, the two sides reviewed the implementation of the 2019 security cooperation plan and discussed cooperation orientations for 2020.

Both sides agreed that last year’s bilateral security cooperation brought about positive outcomes, contributing to ensuring security and order in respective countries amid unexpected developments in the region and the world.

The two sides vowed to continue close coordination at international forums, paralyze hostile forces’ plots aiming at separating the two countries’ relationship, and effectively fight transnational and newly –emerging crime for the happiness of their peoples.

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior Sar Kheng congratulated Viet Nam on assuming the role as ASEAN Chairmanship 2020 and non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2020-2021 tenure.

Meanwhile, Lam conveyed new year greetings of the senior Vietnamese leaders to Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, Prime Minister  Samdech Techo Hun Sen and other Cambodian leaders, wishing the neighboring country to gain greater achievements in 2020./.
