Ha Tien border gate master scheme passed

The master plan aims to convert Ha Tien City and border economic zone into a economic, commercial, and cultural tourism center in the Mekong Delta region. Ha Tien city will be developed sustainably in technical infrastructure, modern socio-economic infrastructure, and cultural heritage destination. 

The master plan targets to build urban space and border gate economic zone; boost regional connectivity; develop economics; ensure national defense; strive for second-grade urban area before 2030; manage urban development towards modernization, green and smart growth, energy saving, investment attraction, human training, climate change application. 

The city will have a population of about 170,000-195,000 by 2030 and 200,000-225,000 by 2040./.
