PM Phuc extends New Year Greetings to ASEAN leaders

On behalf of the Government and people of Viet Nam, I would like to extend New Year greetings to you all, your families and all people of the ASEAN Community, read the letters.

It is forecasted that 2020 will be a difficult and challenging year with unexpected developments in the region and the world but all the difficulties and challenges could not prevent us from advancing to the common goal of building the ASEAN Community of solidarity, unity, peace, prosperity and sustainable development.

To realize the above goal, a cohesive and resilient ASEAN is the fundamental factor that will help us to walk through difficulties and challenges together and join hands in building a better future for our Community and for people in the region.

As the ASEAN Chair in 2020, Viet Nam expects to work with all the member countries to deploy concrete actions and initiatives in order to consolidate solidarity and accelerate connectivity and linkages, enrich our identities, foster external relations and increase ASEAN’s institutional capacity and effectiveness, Phuc wrote.

From that perspective, Viet Nam wishes for proactive support and cooperation from the member countries for a sustainable and prosperous ASEAN Community./.
