VN looks to balance trade with Thailand

VGP – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expects that Viet Nam and Thailand would continue working together towards realizing trade goal of US$ 20 billion next year and that bilateral trade ties will advanced in a more balanced manner.

The Government chief stressed the point at his reception for Thai Ambassador to Viet Nam Tanee Sangrat on December 13 in Ha Noi.

He welcomed Thailand’s proposal to organize the 4th Viet Nam-Thailand Joint Cabinet meeting in the first quarter next year, underlining that it will lay foundation for the two countries to further elevate their strategic partnership to new height.

Phuc called on the Thai side to open its market for Vietnamese products like fruits and milk and facilitate Viet Nam’s firms activities in the country while affirming that Viet Nam will create favorable conditions for Thai investors to operation in Viet Nam.

He took the occasion to invite Thai King and Prime Minister to soon pay official visits to Viet Nam.

For his side, Ambassador Tanee expressed his belief that Viet Nam will successfully undertake the role as the ASEAN Chair in 2020 and non-permenent member of the United Nations Security Council for 2020-2021 tenure.

The diplomat suggested both sides would strengthen security cooperation, both on land and in the sea.

The same day, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted a reception for Sergey Ivanovich Kudryashov, General Director at Zarubezhneft, a Russian oil and gas corporation operating in Viet Nam.

Sergey Ivanovich Kudryashov informed the PM about the good business outcomes of petroleum joint ventures between Zarubezhneft and the Viet Nam Oil and Gas Group (Petro Viet Nam), which are Vietsovpetro in Viet Nam and Rusvietpetro in Russia. 
He expressed thanks to the Vietnamese Government and the PM for facilitating the two joint ventures to operate effectively.

For his side, Phuc confirmed that the Vietnamese Government completely advocates and creates favorable conditions for Zarubezhneft and the Petro Viet Nam to grow strongly.
