Global Summit of Women 2008 to attract female leaders from 100 countries

VNGOP – A press briefing was held on March 20 in Hà Nội by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Việt Nam Women’s Union and the Việt Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry to announce the agenda of the 18th Global Summit of Women 2008 scheduled in Hà Nội on June 5-7.

Under the theme for this year “Women and Asia - Driving the Global Economy”, the agenda content includes: Vietnam - An emerging  dynamic economy; Enterprises development in Asia, dialogue with business women; Youth and business forum; Global women’s leadership awards; Corporate social responsibilities of enterprises - Energy and  environmental impact; Women CEO Forum - Opportunities and challenges in Asian Pacific region; Consequences of success – Impact on women’s health; Brand name protection and information technology; Innovations in micro-enterpreneurship; Doing business in Asia: Avoiding cultural chasms; Balancing work and life; Fight against woman trafficking.

Besides the main program, Vietnam also organizes different important activities such as: “Doing business in Vietnam” Forum; Welcoming Reception; Gala Dinner; exchange program and communication activities in order to introduce Vietnam as a potential destination of investment as well as to promote the image of our country, people and culture to all international friends in the Summit. The Summit is expected to be a good chance for Vietnamese women to meet and share information and experience with nearly 1,000 women leaders in business and politics from 100 countries.
