Gov’t okays two golf courses

VGP – Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung has recently signed a decision giving an agreement to two golf course investment projects worth over VND 1,000 billion in Quang Nam and Lao Cai provinces.

Under the decision, Vinpearl Joint Stock Company was the investor of Vinpearl Quang Nam golf course in Quang Nam province. The golf course will be located at Binh Duong and Binh Minh communes, Thang Binh districts, Quang Nam province with a total area of 70.35 hectares. The over VND 500 billion golf course will have 18 holes. The project will last 50 years. 

The Lao Cai golf course is invested by Sapa Fansipan cable car Tourism Services Ltd at Ban Qua commune, Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province. The project has a total area of 80 hectares with 18 holes and over US$ 552 billion of investment. It will expire after 70 years. 

Under Decision 1946/QD-TTg, dated November 26, 2009, by 2020, Viet Nam will have 89 golf courses. 

The Ministry of Planning and Investment reported that so far nearly 30 golf courses have been put into operation./.
