WB credits used for health care in northern mountains

VNGOP – The World Bank (WB) Việt Nam recently revealed that the WB had approved a credit of US $60 million to boost health activities in mountainous provinces of North Việt Nam.

WB credit will make medical treatment better

The credit is provided by the International Development Association (IDA), a fund of WB for low-income countries. The total value of the project is US $66 million, including US $6 million as Việt Nam’s corresponding capital.

The project is aimed at improve the quality of medical examination and treatment at provincial hospitals through qualifying practitioners, piloting medical models, supplying fundamental medical equipment, upgrading clinics and better managing hospitals.

Through the project, the Government will have a fund to support health services to the poor.
