Schlagenhauf has arrived in Viet Nam to attend the 10th Regional Conference of the Anti-Corruption Initiative for Asia-Pacific.

At the reception, Politburo member Binh welcomed the OECD and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) choosing Viet Nam as the host country of the aforesaid conference, stating that during the Viet Nam APEC Year 2017, the OECD actively responded to and coordinated with Viet Nam to organize many relevant conferences and seminars, thus making positive contributions to the success of the APEC High-level Week 2017.

Expressing his delight to see the increasingly substantial and effective relations between Viet Nam and the OECD, the Deputy PM said Viet Nam officially became a member of the OECD Development Centre in March 2008, and worked with the organization to co-organize an OCED forum on Southeast Asia in Ha Noi three years ago.

In the area of corruption prevention and combating, the official asked the OECD to continue discussing with the Government Inspectorate of Viet Nam to build appropriate support contents, policies and law enforcement capacity for the 2018 Anti-Corruption Law that took effect on July 1, 2019.
