Gov’t chief receives Korean businessmen

PM Phuc highly praised Samsung’s investment in Viet Nam while hosting a reception for Vice Chairman of Samsung Electronics Co. Lee Jae-yong. The Vietnamese Government, ministries, sectors, and localities will create every conditions for Samsung to do successful business in Viet Nam. 

PM Phuc took the occasion to call upon the group to maintain output and export turnover and make positive contribution to socio-economic development in Viet Nam. 

The PM recommended Samsung build a semiconductor production factory; raise localization rate; and support Viet Nam to deeply integrate into Samsung’s value chain. 

In reply, Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong affirmed that he would spare no effort to do successful business in Viet Nam and invest in building a R&D center. 

According to Mr.  Lee Jae-yong, in the coming time, Samsung needs a large number of high-tech technicians in semiconductors, smart phones, as well as high-tech screens. The R&D center will be put into operation in 2022 in Ha Noi. Samsung also planned to recruit 3,000 Vietnamese technicians. 

The same day, PM Phuc received  Hyundai Vice Chairman Kisun Chung. He said that Viet Nam wants to develop the shipbuilding industry and hopes to shake hands with Hyundai in the field. 

The PM took the occasion to seek Hyundai’s support for the development of the shipbuilding industry and the football sector of Viet Nam. 

On this occasion, PM Phuc also met with GS E&C Chairman Michael Huh. He underlined that HCMC always created every conditions for the group to do business in Viet Nam.

Chairman Michael Huh said that the group has engaged in Metro1 project in HCMC and has planned to join the second project and support Viet Nam’s football development./.
