2019 Int’l Maths and Science Olympiad set to take place in VN

VGP – Viet Nam will host the 16th International Mathematics and Science Olympiad contest for primary students from November 27-30.

The annual contest for students under 13 years old aims to promote the interest of those from Viet Nam and other countries in mathematics and science, creating an academic environment for students, encouraging renovation and development in researching and studying and creating cooperative networks in teaching-learning of mathematics and science among world educational organizations.

Running with the theme of "Thinking - Innovation - Outstanding Skills", the IMSO 2019 operates with participants divided into two tables.

This year's competition will bring together 1,725 participants, including 719 candidates, of which 352 are international students, and 367 Vietnamese students along with the participation of 293 international experts, teachers, and observers from 24 different countries globally.

In Group A, 352 candidates from countries and territories such as the United States, Bulgaria, Singapore, Cambodia, China, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Taiwan will compete. In total the Vietnamese delegation has six teams competing in maths and science.

The previous edition of this contest was held in China in 2018 with the attendance of over 400 students from 22 countries. Viet Nam sent 23 students to the contest, twenty of them were from Ha Noi and all of them got medals.
