Top legislator receives Germany guest

The top legislator stressed that Viet Nam always regards Germany as an important partner.

In 2020, Viet Nam would become ASEAN Chairmanship. On the other hand, Germany would undertake EU presidency. President of Germany’s Hessen State Parliament Boris Rhein said that this would be a good chance for the two sides to boost close and effective relations. He was convinced that the Viet Nam-EU FTA would early be ratified. In 2020, Viet Nam and Germany would celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

The top legislator said that the Vietnamese NA always advocates strengthening ties between Viet Nam and Germany, as well as between the two legislatures.

She added that Viet Nam highly appreciates ties with German states, including Hessen, describing the ties as a new and effective model of cooperative relations that needs to be stepped up in the near future.

The host leader hailed the position and strength of Hessen state – one of the leading economic, financial and education hubs in Germany and Europe. 

Viet Nam welcomes Hessen investment in fields of the country’s demand and the state’s strength such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, mechanical engineering, support industry, farm produce processing, and natural rubber production, she said. 

The host leader suggested the Hessen parliament leader and Hessen authorities provide all possible support for Vietnamese enterprises operating in the state.

In reply, the guest leader stressed that Hessen highly values direct collaboration with Viet Nam.

As Viet Nam will serve as ASEAN Chair and Germany holds EU presidency next year, he said both countries will have chances to push for closer and more effective partnership andexpressed his hope that the free trade agreement between Viet Nam and the EU will be ratified soon.
