PM receives new Lao Ambassador

PM Phuc stressed that Viet Nam and Laos enjoyed special and valuable solidarity relations which have been maintained and nurtured by generations of  Vietnamese and Lao people.

The host leader asked the Ambassador to work to nurture the special ties. 

PM Phuc suggested the Ambassador work with Vietnamese competent agencies to raise the quality of cooperative projects; boost exchanges of delegations especially among the youngsters. 

The PM asserted that the Party and Government of Viet Nam always attach importance to cooperation with Lao localities and ministries to accelerate progress of cooperative projects; spur trade ties and investment activities. 

The host leader said the Ambassador should work with competent agencies to prepare for a meeting of the Inter-governmental Committee.

He suggested Laos support Viet Nam to successfully accomplish the ASEAN Chairmanship 2020 and  the  non-permanent UN Security Council member for the 2020-2021 term. 

In reply, Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang thanked the Party, Government and people of Viet Nam for supporting Lao peers. 

He underlined that Laos always supports and works with Viet Nam at regional and international forums.

The Ambassador was convinced that Viet Nam would successfully fulfill the roles./.
