Local Road Assets Management Project (LRAMP), launched since 2015, helps build more than 4,100 bridges at 50 provinces and cities. The project is financed by the WB with the total loans of US$385 million or VND9,000 billion.

After three years of implementation, nearly 2,000 bridges have been buit or are being built with 1,400 bridges inaugurated. As of the end of 2019, 1,800 bridges will complete, exceeding the implementation schedule by 200 ones.

Earlier in 2016, the bridge building and road asset management project financed by the World Bank was approved.

The project aims to build bridges to ensure traffic safety for ethnic minority communities between 2014 and 2020, contributing to socio-economic and cultural development in rural areas, especially remote areas.

Specifically, nearly 676 km of rural road will be upgraded and over 61 km will be regularly maintained.

Besides, the project will help construct 2,170 out of 4,145 bridges that the Government has planned for the period 2014-2020.

The project will be launched between 2016 and 2021 with total capital of US$408.93 million, including US$385 from the World Bank and the rest covered by Viet Nam.
