Deputy FM congratulates on National Day of Cambodia

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung visits the Cambodian Embassy in Ha Noi on November 5 and extends his greetings to Cambodian Ambassador Chay Navuth on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of the National Day of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dung sent warm congratulations to the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ambassador and his spouse and officials of the Cambodian Embassy in Ha Noi.  

Viet Nam is delighted with the achievements of Cambodia gained over the recent 66 years of development, especially remarkable high economic growth over the recent years, said Dung, appraising the solid development in Viet Nam-Cambodia relations, regular delegation exchanges and high-ranking meetings. 

Especially, Cambodian PM Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s official visit to Viet Nam from October 4-5 is historically meaningful as the two sides inked two legal documents acknowledging the completion of 84% of Viet Nam-Cambodia border delimitation work, which creates a crucial foundation for establishing Viet Nam-Cambodia border lines of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.   

Cambodian Ambassador Chay Navuth expressed his delight that the two legal documents were ratified by the Vietnamese National Assembly on November 4, 2019. 

He expressed thank for the support of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other ministries and agencies for the Embassy, affirming that he will do his utmost to boost the two nations’ relations comprehensively and practically during his tenure. 

He agreed to enhance close coordination with the Vietnamese side to organize important diplomatic events in 2020. 

On the occasion, the Ambassador once again congratulated Viet Nam on officially receiving the handover of ASEAN Chairmanship 2020, confirming that Cambodia advocates Viet Nam to successfully perform the ASEAN Chairmanship 2020 and the non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in the 2020-2021 period.
