Trade surplus hits US$7 bln

VGP – Viet Nam enjoyed the trade surplus of US$7 billion over the recent 10 months of 2019, according to the General Statistics Office.

As of the end of October 2019, Viet Nam’s exports and imports witness respective year-on-year increases of 7.4% and 7.8%, reaching US$217.05 billion and US$210 billion.  

As many as 29 items join the US$1 billion export club, making up 91.2% of the total export value and five items announce the export value exceeding US$10 billion, accounting for 59.4%.

The U.S. maintains the largest exporter of Viet Nam in 10 months with US$49.9 billion, up 26.6% against the same period last year.

A total number of 32 items report the import value over US$1 billion, accounting for 88.6% of the total import value.

China still takes the lead among Viet Nam’s top importers in 10 months, with the import value of US$62 billion, up 16.1%.
