VN, China enhance cooperation in defense

VGP - Minister of Defense Ngo Xuan Lich suggested Viet Nam and China strengthen delegation exchanges at all levels and maintain the Deputy ministerial-level defense policy dialogue at his meeting with Xu Qiliang, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China, on the sidelines of the 9th Beijing Xiangshan Forum in Beijing, China.

Lich supposed that the Beijing Xiangshan Forum creates an opportunity for nations to present their viewpoints on international and regional security issues. 

Both sides agreed that the two nations’ comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership have gained practical achievements. 

The Vietnamese Minister proposed the two nations actively prepare for the sixth border defense friendship exchange and boost cooperation in participating in the United Nations’ peace-keeping activities.   

They two sides consented that the two nations need to frankly and sincerely  discuss to address issues in the bilateral relationship in the spirit of the high-ranking agreement between their senior leaders, for the sake of their people and making contributions to peace, stability and development in the region. 

Lich stressed the importance of joining hands in coping with common security challenges. 

The occasion, Lich invited Xu Qiliang to pay visit to Viet Nam and the latter accepted and asserted the visit will be arranged.
