Gov’t proposes monthly basic wage increase

VGP – The Government has suggested the monthly basic wage be raised to VND 1.6 million from January 1, 2020. Once the National Assembly passes the proposal, the monthly basic wage would be added by VND 110,000 per month from the present level.

On behalf of the PM, Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung presented a report on the implementation of the State budget in 2019 and State budget forecast in 2020.

Some commented that the wage hike would enlarge budget spending instead of spending on investment development.

Others suggested public service allowance increase as it has been kept at 25%./.
