Locals voiced concern over the quality of tap water supplied for the districts of Ha Dong, Hoang Mai, Nam Tu Liem and Thanh Xuan.

The Ministry of Construction coordinates and joins hands with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and localities to inspect the operation of clean water plants nationwide to ensure clean and safe water serving local people.

The Ministry of Public Security is tasked for investigating and clarifying the reason of the polluted water.

Over the recent days, locals voiced concern over the quality of tap water supplied for the districts of Ha Dong, Hoang Mai, Nam Tu Liem and Thanh Xuan.

According to the locals, the 2.5-ton truck had poured motor oil into Tram Spring, which flows to a canal connected to the water plant operated by Song Da Water Investment JSC.

The foul odor had lingered for days, prompting residents to stop using the water for cooking and daily activities. Authorities in some urban areas in the city even bought bottled water for their residents.
