ABB (ABBN: SIX Swiss Ex) is among the technology businesses taking the lead in facilitating the digital transformation in industries. The company has been operating in the Vietnamese market for the past few years with a continuously relative growth rate.

Under the national digital transformation project, by 2025, 50% of Viet Nam’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will switch to digital platforms, resulting in the establishment of at least 80,000 digital businesses.

The Viet Nam Industry 4.0 Summit 2019 is one of the most prestigious events co-organized by the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission, ministries and sectors, focusing on the implementation and development of Industry 4.0 in Viet Nam.

Under the theme of “Viet Nam’s Strategy & Action Plan in Proactively Embracing the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” the event offered a high-quality platform to not only share knowledge and boost connection, but also introduce and showcase the most advanced technologies and solutions in terms of digital transformation.

During the summit, ABB introduced four pioneering digital technologies that contribute to the development of Industry 4.0 in Viet Nam, including the ABB Ability™ Smart Sensor, the ABB Ability™ Digital Powertrain, the ABB Ability™ Connected Services and the Terra54 electric vehicle charger.

Notably, for the first time in Viet Nam, ABB introduced the Terra54 electric vehicle charger, which was developed based on a decade of electric vehicle fast charging experience. Terra 54 helps increase usability and reliability by allowing continuous charging from 50kW to 500V for 15-30 minutes.

According to the “Environmental Report 2016” of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, transport is one of the main causes of air pollution in Viet Nam’s urban areas. Therefore, ABB hopes to soon bring charging solutions into the country to support the development of sustainable urban transport.
