VN welcomes Finland’s investment in renewable energy, innovation

VGP – Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh asked the Government of Finland to encourage Finnish businesses to invest in such areas like renewable energy, waste treatment, and innovation in Viet Nam.

Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh meets with Finnish Minister deputizing for the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Mika Lintilä as part of his ongoing visit to Finland.

Binh made the request at his talks with Minister deputizing for the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Finland Mika Lintilä on Friday.

Both sides noted that the Viet Nam-Finland relationship has advanced positively across fields and agreed to continue fostering delegation exchanges and contacts at all levels and maintaining effective operation of the bilateral mechanisms.

The sides also agreed to accelerate coordination at regional and international forums and cooperation in addressing global issues.

Regarding recent developments in the East Sea, the two sides underlined the importance of ensuring peace, stability, safety, security and freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea and of peacefully settling disputes on the basis of international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.

Deputy PM Binh took the occasion to extend thanks to Finland for its valuable support and assistance for Viet Nam’s struggle for national liberation and reunification in the past and the current development and international integration process.

The same day, Binh also met with First Deputy Speaker of the Finnish Parliament Tuula Haatainen./.
