Italy, VN sign MoU on cooperation in anti-corruption

VGP - The Italian National Anti-corruption Authority (ANAC) and the Government Inspectorate of Viet Nam have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on bilateral cooperation to strengthen anti-corruption coordination between the two countries.

The signing was made during a working visit to Italy from September 26-28 of the Vietnamese delegation led by Government Chief Inspector General Le Minh Khai.

ANAC President Raffaele Cantone affirmed the ANAC’s willingness to cooperate with the Government Inspectorate of Viet Nam in combating corruption, saying that cooperation activities between the two countries in this field will be enhanced.

He highlighted the fruitful development of Viet Nam-Italy partnership in recent times, saying that experience sharing and exchange in anti-corruption between the two sides will help boost bilateral relations.

Government Inspector General Le Minh Khai has stepped up the fight against corruption to create a transparent environment, maintain political stability and promote socio-economic development.

He suggested the two sides work closely to implement the MoU soon.

During their stay, the Vietnamese delegates had a working session with representatives from the Italian Foreign Ministry, during which they discussed the system of agencies related to anti-corruption in Italy, the country’s efforts to fulfill its commitments as a member of the UN Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), the Organisationfor Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Anti-Bribery Convention (OECD-ABC)./.
