Insurance value up nearly 20% in eight months

VGP – The total insurance value over the recent eight months of 2019 witnessed a year-on-year increase of 19.8%, reaching VND438,000 billion, according to the statistics of the Ministry of Finance.

Insurance firms invested VND366,900 billion into the economy in eight months, up 26.5%.

The equity of insurers amounted to VND93,500 billion, up 20.2% while the premiums collected by insurance companies hit around VND100,000 billion, up 23.6%.

The total insurance compensation saw a year-on-year increase of 8.6%, attaining VND25,300 billion.

Viet Nam now has 779,600 insurance agents. The country’s insurance sector has targeted a growth rate of 20% this year.
