Leaders extend sympathies over devastating floods in Laos

VGP – Party General Secretary, State President Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan have extended their sincere and deep sympathies to leaders and people of Laos, especially the authorities and local residents in flood-hit areas, over the losses caused by recent devastating floods.

In the letters to their respective counterparts – President Bounnhang Vorachith, PM Thongloun Sisoulith, and NA Chairwoman Pany Yathotou, the Vietnamese leaders showed concerns over the flooding situation in the neighboring country, expressing their belief that under the leadership and direction of the Party, State, Government and NA of Laos, Lao people will soon overcome the consequences of the disaster and stabilize their life.

The same day, Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh also cabled a letter of sympathies to Lao FM Saleumxay Kmmansith.
