MOLISA Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung (R) and MOEL Deputy Minister Im Sep Jeong sign the MoU on cooperation in the fields of labor and employment.

Accordingly, the MoU will pave the way for bilateral collaboration in the areas of human resource development, labor and the labor market, labor hygiene and safety, labor inspection and labor relations.

In human resources development, the RoK side pledges to support policy building; train and improve qualifications for teachers and vocational training managers; exchange vocational training lecturers, experts and managers; and support capacity building for the ASEAN Skills Competition and the World Skills Competition.

The RoK will also assist Viet Nam in facilitating cooperation between technical and vocational education and training (TVET) organizations and technical colleges through joint seminars and conferences, while supporting the development of national skill standards and the training of experts in national skill assessment and certification.

Particularly, the two sides will exchange documents and develop vocational training programs for the Vietnamese side, in addition to supporting the development of a vocational skill training and evaluation system.

MOLISA Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung said after nearly three decades since the two nations established their diplomatic relations, Viet Nam-RoK cooperation has seen significant progress in the fields of politics, economy, trade, investment, development aids, tourism and labor. Up to now, the RoK has become the largest foreign investor in Viet Nam with more than 6,000 projects, creating jobs for over 700,000 workers.
