Quang Tri, Lao localities sign cooperative agreement

VGP – Leaders of the central province of Quang Tri and Lao provinces of Savannakhet and Salavan signed a cooperative agreement for the next 2020-2022 period, following their meeting on August 16 in Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Province.

The agreement figures out multi-faceted cooperation among the three localities, including, politics-diplomacy, defense and security, border issues, trade-investment-tourism, education-training, human resource development, administration reform, facilitation of ex-import activities, and non-refundable aid.

The localities will give priority to enhancing support for investors through preferential tax and import-export procedures for projects in accordance with the Viet Nam-Laos border trade agreement signed in 2015.

They pledged to take more measures to encourage border trade via Lao Bao and Lalay international border gates and other border crossings while stepping up cooperation in agriculture and rural development in favor of poverty reduction./.
