VGP – The Government has requested ministries and sectors to focus on accelerating the restructuring of public investment, state-owned enterprises and credit institutions, according to its latest resolution.

Lifting hurdles in terms of business and investment conditions

Ministries and sectors were also urged to promptly remove difficulties and proactively propose solutions to deal with the overlap, inconsistency and ambiguity of legal regulations as well as mechanisms and policies.

The Government asked the State Bank of Viet Nam to continue proactively and flexibly regulating the monetary policy in synchronous coordination with other macroeconomic policies, ensuring inflation control in accordance with the set objectives.

Facilitating development of stock market

The Ministry of Finance was assigned to effectively realize state budget goals in 2019 while tightly managing state budget expenditures in line with regulations and urgently finalizing a project on expanding tax base and preventing erosion of state budget revenues.

The Government requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade to actively implement solutions to expand export markets; prevent dumping into the domestic market; strengthen inspection and control and strictly handle acts of trade remedies evasion, especially goods origin frauds; urgently implement measures to boost e-commerce development; and coordinate with the State Bank of Viet Nam to launch the application of appropriate e-payment methods.

Preventing dengue fever

The Government asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to continue working with localities to drastically and effectively implement solutions to control African swine fever.

The Ministry of Health was tasked with strengthening epidemic prevention and control measures, especially preventing dengue fever, in addition to stepping up the implementation of the Viet Nam Health Program.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism was urged to accelerate tourism promotion; take measures to restructure international tourist sources by location; manage quality of destinations, improve efficiency and added value, and ensure sustainable development; and prepare well for the 2020 Olympic qualifiers and the 2021 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. 

The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs was requested to urgently finalize the draft revised Ordinance on Preferential Policies for people with meritorious service to the Revolution and submit it to the National Assembly Standing Committee in December 2019.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment was tasked with enhancing the quality of natural disaster forecast and warning, strengthen inspection and control over the environmental protection issue and strictly handle violations, and research measures to reduce plastic waste and encourage the use of environmentally friendly materials.

Strengthening anti-corruption work

The Government Inspectorate was requested to monitor and strictly implement the Prime Minister’s Directive No. 20/CT-TTg dated May 17, 2017 on reorganizing inspection and examination activities for enterprises, while strengthening prevention and control of corruption as well as harassment and negative acts in handling affairs in state agencies.
