Phones exported to India up 96%

VGP – The exports of phones and accessories to India in the first half of 2019 witnessed a year-on-year increase of 96%, reaching US$743.46 million, or an increase of US$365 million comparison with the same period last year, according to the General Department of Customs.

Viet Nam gained US$3.41 billion from exporting to India over the recent six months of 2019, up 2% against the same period last year. 

The export value of phones and accessories accounted for 21.8% of the nation’s export value to India. 

As the end of June, the exports of machines, equipment and tools only hit US$417 million, equal to 39% of the same period last year. 

The other three commodities joined the US$100 million export club to India included computers, electronics and spare parts (US$521 million, up 71%), metal (US$309.4 million) and chemical products (US$191.5 million, up 24.1%). 

The export value of these five items reached US$2.182 billion, making up 64% of the total export value of Viet Nam to India in the first half of 2019.
