DPM receives Japanese State Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications

Deputy PM Binh expressed the pleasure to witness the developments in the Viet Nam0Japan strategic partnership. 

So far, Japan was the largest ODA provider for Viet Nam with over US$ 30 billion and the second biggest FDI supplier with 4,150 projects worth over US$ 57 billion. Japan was the third largest tourism market by yearly sending 800,000 visitors to Viet Nam. Two-way trade turnover ranked fourth with US$ 38 billion in 2018. 

Mr. Binh praised the working visit of the State Minister, regarding this as a practical activity for the two sides to share experiences of investigations, administrative consultations, and settlement of administrative accusations. 

He was convinced that the two sides would continue to cooperate to implement the 2013 MoU on cooperation, contributing to developing the strategic partnership. 

According to Deputy PM Binh, the Japan’s Ministry for Internal Affairs and Communications conducts functions of five ministries and ministerial-level agencies in Viet Nam namely the Government Inspectorate, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Ministry of Planning and Investment. 

The Japanese Ministry has formed ties with Vietnamese agencies to exchange experiences on e-Government building, digital management, as well as manpower training.

The Vietnamese Government said Deputy PM Binh encourages and creates favorable ways for cooperative programs among Vietnamese ministries and agencies and the Japanese Ministry for Internal Affairs and Communications. 

The host leader suggested the Japanese Ministry work with the Government Inspectorate to hold training courses for Vietnamese staffs; calling on the two sides to ink cooperative programs and protocols. 

In reply, the Japanese State Minister assessed that the bilateral ties have flourished in different areas. Viet Nam is an important partner of Japan. 

According to the guest leader, since 2013, a large number of Vietnamese investigators were sent to Japan.

So far, 330,000 Vietnamese are living in Japan. 

In 2019, Viet Nam and Japan signed a MoU on labor cooperation in 14 sectors. 

Mr. Junji Suzuki affirmed that the Japanese Ministry would conduct numerous policies to support overseas Vietnamese people in Japan; cooperate with the Vietnamese General Statistics Office; and share experiences on digital process and e-Government building with Viet Nam./.
