PM greets outgoing French and Germany Ambassadors

PM Phuc congratulated French Ambassador Bertrand Lortholary on the successful mission in Viet Nam especially in organizing exchanges of high-level delegations between the two countries including the official visits of Party General Secretary, State President Nguyen Phu Trong to French and French PM Edouard Philippe to Viet Nam. 

In April, 2019, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan attended the cooperative meeting among Vietnamese and French localities in France. 

Ambassador Bertrand Lortholary expressed the pleasure to witness the bilateral ties to a new height. 

He added that French enterprises are operating properly in Viet Nam. A large number of them are extremely interested in the Vietnamese market especially when the two sides signed the EVFTA and IPA. 

The French Development Agency (AFD) conducted a series of effective activities in Viet Nam. The agency hoped to implement different projects in Viet Nam including those on climate change response. 

PM Phuc suggested France support the ratification of the two recently signed agreements to bring benefits to the two peoples and business communities.

The host leader spoke highly the increasing Viet Nam-France defense cooperation in the past time. The PM hailed France’s stance on peace, security, and free navigation and aviation in the East Sea. 

The same day, PM Phuc received German Ambassador Christian Berger and praised the guest for supporting the bilateral ties. 

The Ambassador said that during his term in Viet Nam, he has spared no effort to boost the strategic partnership between Viet Nam and Germany. 

The guest leader proposed the two sides accelerate the establishment of the chamber of commerce and industry in order to create favorable conditions for their businesses to enhance cooperation, and set up a joint economic committee to discuss strategic cooperation orientations.

He spoke highly of Germany’s voice in the signing of the EU-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement and the EU-Viet Nam Investment Protection Agreement.

PM called on Germany to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese students to study in the country and assist the German language teaching in Viet Nam./.
