White Book on Vietnamese Businesses 2019 released

VGP – The White Book on Vietnamese Businesses was released on July 10, providing abundant and reliable information for the Government, ministries, sectors and localities as well as associations and investors.

As of December 31, 2018, Viet Nam housed 714,000 operational businesses. HCMC took the lead with 228,267 enterprises followed by Ha Noi with 143,119; Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Da Nang city, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, and Bac Ninh. 

Addressing the publishing event, Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue stressed that enterprises and businesses must take the lead in producing material wealth, generating jobs, raising economic incomes and budget collection. 

The book provides an overall picture of the development of domestic businesses arranged according to sectors, business types and localities, serving as reference for the Government, ministries, sectors and localities in designing strategies, plans and policies for sustainable and effective development of businesses on both national and local scales.  

It is also expected to be a source of useful information for international organizations, countries and foreign enterprises in assessing and making decision on investment and cooperation. 

The DPM tasked the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MoPI) to continue researching and working closely with ministries, agencies and localities to improve the book.  

The MoPI will publish the electronic version of the White Book on Vietnamese Businesses 2019 on July 22 and the printed one on August 1./.
