Each of the plants has a capacity of 49.6MW and an estimated output of 76.2 million kWh of electricity a year.

The plants, officially connected to the national grid on June 11, contribute to solving the power shortage problem in the dry season, and generating jobs for around 100 locals.

Earlier, the BCG-CME Long An 1 solar power plant began commercial operation in Thanh An commune, Thanh Hoa district, Long An province on June 23.

It is one of the first solar power plants to be inaugurated in Long An province and integrated into the national electricity grid.

BCG-CME Long An 1 solar power plant once officially put into operation will generate electricity with an output of 57 million kWh / year. This electricity output is nearly equal to the annual electricity consumption of 22,000 households in Viet Nam, estimated to reduce CO2 emissions by about 16,000 tons / year./.
