Speaking at the meeting, Phuc asserted that achievements and sacrifice of the police force have made crucial contributions to guaranteeing political security, social order and safety and people’s lives as well as created foundations for stabilizing the society to enhance the renovation, integration and development of the nation.

The police force must keep a close eye on the international, regional and domestic situations related to the national security and benefits, particularly when Viet Nam will assume the ASEAN Chair in 2020 and the non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in 2020-2021, he said.

Phuc required the police force to take the lead in launching the resolutions and directions of the Party, National Assembly and Government on renewing the political system more effectively and setting up a contingent of competent cadres at all levels, especially at the strategic level.

He asked for actively ensuring finance, logistics-technology and science and technology potential, especially taking advantages of opportunities and favorability of the Industry 4.0.

He stressed the need to speed up the rate of progress of the establishment of the e-Government, e-authority and upgrade online public services in security and order areas in line with promoting administrative procedure reform to meet the demands of the social development, people and businesses.

The police force continues to expand diplomatic works and international cooperation in security and order maintenance, he suggested, requesting to boost cooperation with other nations in struggling against crimes, terrorism, addressing non-traditional security issues, particularly preventing drug trafficking and high-tech crimes.

In the first half of 2019, the police force investigated and handled 59,433 cases of crimes, including 21,071 cases related to social order, 9,948 economic crimes, 1,139 smuggling cases, 13,932 crimes and violations relevant to the environment.
